Not sure why I’ve wound myself into a knot. It’s Sunday and everything is pretty much in place.
The house can do with a bit of a clean but that’s the kids’ job.
I’m only working my usual shifts this coming week so all is good.
Christmas is well on the way . Pressies all wrapped and ready to go. Still got to book a fishing charter for hubby either that or a beer crawl or something.
Yesterday decluttering I was thinking to myself jeez the apartment needs an overhaul . May be that’s why I’ve been feeling like crap.
Feels like nothing is getting done . The laundry cupboards fell off the wall months ago. It did a bit of damage and yet still not patched up.
It goes for my bedroom also. The rod for the drapes came off the wall now fixed but a gaping hole.
We’ve been here 4-5 years now and no maintenance since we’ve moved in.
Hubby doesn’t want to do anything and me I’ve just lived with it.
Well last night I decided that no I’m not going to live with it any longer. I’m going to spruce the place up.
If hubby doesn’t want to do anything then I’ll hire someone to come in and do it. It’s happened before . He’s always saying why didn’t I wait for him? As it’s expensive getting someone to come in to do it .
Today is the staff Christmas lunch. I purposely booked somewhere opposite the train station . Plus it was the only place that’s left. Found out the other day that the trains don’t run this weekend . They only run half way then buses the other half .
Still deciding what to do. The train stop that we need is on another line which means getting a train then bus then a 10 minutes walk.
The alternative is to drive to the place itself and fingers crossed there’s parking.

This is our metropolitan train network. The CBD is pretty much the city loop bit.
Then you’ve got lines that feeds off the loop. Where the yellow stations end is approximately 12km from CBD and about 25 minutes train ride.
Okay, that makes the Washington, DC rail system map look like child’s play. Wow, I would hate to have to navigate that after a few cocktails. Oh… that’s not helping is it? π

It’s quite easy to navigate Marty. All you do is look for the station that you’re going to and it will tell you which line to catch. Let say I want to go to East Richmond and I know the Belgrave or Lilydale line doesn’t stop there so I either catch the Glen Waverley line to get there or I get off at the stop before or after and walk . It’s roughly 1.5km between each stop so an easy 10 minutes walk? saves changing trains . These days it’s easy just turn on the bubble and follow the blue bubble on your phone .
I think the Tokyo one is worse as too many exits to one station.
Our stations only really have one exit you can’t get lost. The CBD one can have multiple exits the most 4 not like Tokyo or Seoul where a station can have up to 10 exits .

Do you have something like a monthly pass that let’s you enter without having to pay cash each time??? That’s what I used to have in DC. It made it easier to get in/out. I miss not having a good mass transit; we have none here in our part of Florida.
