I’ve been quiet because we’ve been out. My birthday is coming up and well hubby thought he’d give me my pressie early.
We went to see Aladdin. Dress circle. It was at Her Majesty Theatre. It’s not as pretty as the Regent Theatre on Collins
https://marrinergroup.com.au/venues/regent-theatre
Then we went to a rooftop bar for drinks. https://bourkestreetimperial.com/
then walkies to have a midnight snack at Supper Inn.
The lanes are all lit up.
Crown Casino
They had a Christmas special where all the baubles open up at different time.
We had a go on the pokies . Popped in $20. We lost near half when we hit the jackpot . Since it’s a 2c machine we made most of our money back with only a $1.85 donation to Crown.
Our bed this morning. Their mattress is so comfy π
The Intercontinental . Still my favourite hotel.

We hopped on the tram and went to South Melbourne Market.
Had coffee here at Padre’s. They make their coffees nice and strong.
Bought an almond croissant and a canelles at Agathe’s patisserie.
We had a dozen oysters from Aptus.
Hubby had half a lobster tail mornay also from Aptus. I got a paella to share. He had a white wine . I had a sangria.
In all our brunch costed us about $50 each.
Coffee $8
Almond croissant and canelles $10
Oysters $21
Lobster $24
Paella , wine , sangria $31
Considering the hotel’s buffet breakfast was $42 each, we’ve done well.
On our way to Melbourne Central to catch our train back home.
Looks great! Glad you had some fun π

He liked it. Iβm always the one with good ideas. Sometimes itβs nice to just relax in our own city. We are so lucky in Melbourne with so much yummy food at our door step.

Thank you. It was. Iβll have to find more places to take him to next time. Heβs a homebody. Iβm a wanderer.

In what Australian authorities are calling a deliberate “act of evil,” an SUV plowed into Christmas shoppers on one of Melbourne’s busiest streets Thursday afternoon, injuring at least 19 people. <—please tell me no where near where you were??
Happy Birthday on your day……Looks like you had a great time!

Boo..we are all safe. The news has not sink in as yet. Weβve only just had one ram raid in January. Itβs awful. That intersection is one of the worse ones. People cross everywhere. I can only imagine the impact as have crossed there at peak hour.

Hereβs the latest update. I copied and pasted as the newspaper might not let you in.
The driver has been confirmed as a 32 year old Afghan Aussie with a history of drug abuse and mental health issues. He, too, remains in hospital, under police guard.
A second man dressed in a flannelette shirt and blue jeans, who was seen filming the attack on his mobile phone and had knives in his bag was arrested at the scene, but was not believed to be related to the driver or the incident.
A major investigation from specialist arms of Victoria Police is underway.

We left the city at around 2:30pm. We caught the tram up along Collins so a block away. We werenβt near there.

I donβt usually go down that way unless I want to go to Flinders or to cut across the river to Southgate.
My station where I usually get off is Melbourne Central which is more central and easier to navigate anywhere I want to go.
