Laksa checked
The otah is quite soft to have with the laksa. We had a lime juice each. Also had a basket of salted egg buns and chilli crab buns.
We caught the MRT to Paya Lebar then it was half an hour walk. We walked through an estate. Saw community gardens.
A temple.
Then after laksa we came back via Joo Chiat Rd. How fancy is this staircase?
Found sweets and fruit. The green rolls were soft with coconut fillings . The balls had syrup inside with a little block of sugar. Haven’t tried the other two as yet.
Peranakan sweets checked.
And wedding cake houses
How cute are these?
The tiles on the footpath. Choo Chiat Rd must be a heritage area.
Durian checked
They chop it up for you and give you gloves and tissues. We bought premium ie. guaranteed at $35/kg . This little one costed us $60.
Verdict ? It was well worth it.
Tonight we are off to Lau Pa Sat for satay and then on to Marina Bay for the festival.
Looks delicious Dewey! Which country are you in?

Everything is just so interesting to look at — foods I’ve never seen or heard of, and such beautiful temples. Thanks once again, Vy, for taking me somewhere I know I’ll never see in person. – Marty

You should go and see it in person Marty. It’s cheap if you eat at the food centres. Today we are off again waiting for kids to wake up.

Is that the fruit that smells disgusting but tastes good? Why is it so expensive?
