I suck at budgeting 😩 Yesterday I spent half the day doing a projected budget.
It’s looking pretty bad. I’m trying to get it down to 50K a year for my living expenses. It’s no where near it. I haven’t accounted for rates or utilities as yet.
I want to pay extra into my mortgage to pay it off quickly.
I guess the other way is to just pay it into the mortgage and live with what’s left.
At the moment I’ve still got the capacity to earn. I’m hoping the mortgage will be gone once I’m done with working.
My car expenses and my professional associations are costing quite a bit to keep. Also professional books etc. But then they are claimable.
I’m pretty lucky to be able to work part-time and still have a good wage. I’ll clear 69K a year after tax.
Guess I’ll just have to tighten the belt for the next few years to pay off as much of the mortgage as possible.
A challenge in itself.
GOOD LUCK! Just pay everything per month for a few months. Then when you see what you have left, pay more on whatever. Just don’t short yourself……xoxo

Thanks. I’m already over it. I do have enough. Just too much to think about.

I didn’t plan on having a mortgage in retirement, but then I never anticipated getting divorced and remarried either. Paying additional towards the principal is fantastic if you can do it, Vy. That’s a good plan and what we’re doing too. – Marty

Yes Marty. Hoping to. Just feeling a bit overwhelmed. Will see what happens when I get a mortgage.
